The purpose of this blog is to compose the thoughts of a number of writers from a broad selection of our society. Modern America is in endanger of harming the very fabric of the republic that has been essential to the success of the United States of America.
It has not been a success story with out cost. There have been great injustices done to many people over the centuries, but ours is one of the few societies in human history which seeks to right the wrongs committed, and prevent them from happening again.
The point is not the political agenda of any party, or the social engineering of any group; the whole nature of the American Ideal was founded upon ideals, dreams, and hopes. If the long term view is not taken, then as the 21st century dawns, we are endangering the very things we hold dear. The hope of the Founding Fathers is we would take what they bequethed to us, and improve upon it.
The US Constitution was a compromise. It was never even an ideal compromise. The document was a hope that future generations could improve what had come before, and make the Constitution and the Republic a vehicle to bring the ideals stated in the Declaration of Independence into reality. For many generations we have struggled to achieve that dream. In many ways we have succeeded more than the Founding Fathers could ever have dreamed, yet now trends are developing within the nation of political tribalism, which threaten to rip asunder the very fabric of the republic given to us by our ancestors.
